SHANGHAI -- For Novak Djokovic, there were no songs on stadium court at the Shanghai Masters on Saturday. Just a smashed racket, a torn shirt and a lot of frustration. The top-ranked Serb struggled to control his errors -- and his emotions -- and was upset in the semifinals by Spains Roberto Bautista Agut?6-4, 6-4.Andy Murray had his own anger issues in the other semifinal against Gilles Simon, but the second-seeded Scot regained his composure and pulled out a 6-4, 6-3 victory to advance to his 10th final of the year.Djokovic, a three-time champion in Shanghai, was noticeably off his game for the second straight day after laboring to victory over German qualifier Mischa Zverev in the quarterfinals. Djokovic sprayed his groundstrokes and missed routine volleys, finishing with 29 unforced errors. He was also a miserable 2-of-9 on break-point chances.Against Zverev, Djokovic tried to stay calm by shrugging off errors and even humming a song to keep his anger from boiling over. That attitude was nowhere to be seen on Saturday, however.Djokovic smashed his racket into bits after losing the first set -- later grabbing a towel from a ball girl to sweep up the pieces -- and ripped his shirt open in anger during another point. He argued repeatedly with chair umpire Carlos Bernardes over line calls and a time violation he received for changing his ripped shirt. He continued the exchange after the match and complained about it in his postmatch news conference.[Bernardes] was the star of the show, Djokovic said. Thats what he wanted to be today.Djokovic has talked repeatedly this week about trying to lessen the pressure he feels on court and rediscover his inner joy for the game after a couple of all-conquering years that have left him mentally exhausted. He acknowledged after Saturdays defeat that its very much a work in progress. This is one of those days, Djokovic said. Things go in an opposite direction than you want them, but again, its a lesson. Every day is a lesson. It has been a season full of them for a player not accustomed to struggling. There has been a stunning loss to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon, an early exit at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics to Juan Martin del Potro?and?a demoralizing defeat in the US Open final to Stan Wawrinka.Djokovic lost for the seventh time this season. Of those, five have come against players ranked outside the top 15, according to ESPN Stats & Information. There have also been injuries to his elbow and wrist, yet another unfamiliar issue for the normally healthy Djokovic. But the Serb doesnt believe these challenges are insurmountable. Or that they will lead to a deeper slide.I had to experience sooner or later this, he said. I knew I could not go on playing the highest level for so many years all the time, but its good to experience this so I can hopefully get better in the period to come.Murray can empathize with what Djokovic is going through. And he is certain his rival will find a way to turn it around.I do think that after everything hes achieved and the kind of dominance that hes had, it takes so much effort and work to be making finals almost every single week for two years, Murray said. Its maybe normal if hes mentally a little tired or trying to find the next thing for him to achieve after what he did at the French Open.Murray struggled himself against Simon, dropping serve three times in the first set. He also griped repeatedly to the umpire about missed calls. But he put distractions to the side and managed to break Simon six times to clinch the match in straight sets.Murray hasnt dropped a set in his last 10 matches. He is also 2-0 against Bautista Agut.Compared to some of his clay-loving Spanish compatriots, though, Bautista Agut is no slouch on hard courts. In fact, he has more victories on hard courts this year (37) than Murray (34), though Bautista Agut has played in more tournaments.I think because of his game style, he hits the ball very flat on both sides, Murray said. Thats not typical for a Spaniard. I think that helps him.The Associated Press contributed to this report. Cheap Celtics Jerseys Authentic . Neymar curled home a free kick from just outside the area to put the 2014 World Cup host ahead in the 44th minute. Three minutes after the break, a simple through pass from Paulinho freed Oscar and the Chelsea star rounded goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong to extend Brazils lead. Cheap Robert Williams Jersey . Rob Manfred, baseballs chief operating officer, testified last week during the grievance filed by the players union to overturn Rodriguezs 211-game suspension. A person familiar with the hearing, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press on Saturday that Manfred testified the sport wasnt concerned whether Bosch distributed performance-enhancing drugs to minors because MLBs interest was his relationship with players under investigation. http://www.cheapcelticsjerseys.com/?tag=cheap-larry-bird-jersey . But the quarterback hopes to stay involved in football after officially calling it quits Tuesday. "Id love to look at those opportunities as they arise," Pierce said in an interview from his Winnipeg eatery. Cheap Swingman Celtics Jerseys . -- Gus Malzahn finally had his day in Fayetteville. Cheap NBA Jerseys . LOUIS -- Mike Smith is used to facing plenty of shots, so this was nothing new. RIO DE JANEIRO -- One destroyed racket -- and one poor set -- later, Serena Williams made it safely into the third round of the Rio Olympics as she bids for a second consecutive singles gold medal. The No. 1-seeded American struggled for quite a while Monday night, before emerging with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over Frances Alize Cornet, despite making 36 unforced errors and getting broken four times.I just needed to relax. I was missing shots by, literally, centimeters, and Im not really used to missing those shots, Williams said. I really had to figure out a way to adjust.Williams started well enough, taking the first three games and compiling 17 of the matchs first 21 winners. But then she dropped 5 of 6 games to fall behind 5-4.During that troublesome stretch, Williams reacted to losing two games in a row by mangling the tool of her trade, slamming it against the back of her green-and-white sideline bench before depositing it on the ground. Hardly the first time shes done that sort of thing -- and likely not the last, either. In her previous tournament, Wimbledon, Williams broke a racket after losing the opening set of a second-rounder against American Christina McHale. Williams then flung the racket so far behind her that it landed in the lap of a TV cameraman filming the match. From that point on, Williams didnt drop a set the rest of the way at the All England Club, taking 12 in a row to earn her record-tying 22nd Grand Slam title. She didnt quite generate that sort of spark Monday, 24 hours after she and older sister Venus lost an Olympic doubles match for the first time. They had been 15-0 with three golds, but that run is now over. So, too, is Cornets three-match winning streak against the younger Williams.Thats because Williams cut down on her mistakes in the second set. How?Just tried to add a little bit more spin, she explained. If its going out, maybe Im hitting it a little bit too flat. After three No. 1 seeds exited Sunday -- Serbias Novak Djokovic in mens singles, the Williams sisters in womens doubles, and Frances Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in mens doubles -- Williams avoided that sort of result in singles. But Djokovics Olympics are over, because after he and Nenad Zimonjic lostt 6-4, 6-4 to Brazils Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares, the 12-time major champion said he will not enter mixed doubles in Rio de Janeiro.ddddddddddddilliams singles match was touch-and-go for more than an hour. Cornet held a pair of set points in the opener but failed to convert either. Then Williams served for that set at 6-5, only to get broken at love when she double-faulted for the fifth time. In the tiebreaker, Cornet went ahead 5-4 before Williams claimed the next three points and the set.She raced to a 3-0 edge in the second set, and that was pretty much that.No tennis player ever has won two Olympic singles golds -- let alone two in a row. But Williams is not just any player, of course. Which is why it was rather remarkable that Cornet, who is ranked only 48th and never made it past the fourth round of a major in 42 appearances, entered Monday with a 4-3 record against Williams. She knows how to play me, Williams said. Every time I play her, Im not in my best shape.Joining Williams in the third round: No. 2 Angelique Kerber of Germany, No. 3 Garbine Muguruza of Spain and No. 7 Madison Keys of the U.S.Elsewhere, the man who got stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes and then beat Djokovic in singles on Sunday, Argentinas Juan Martin del Potro, got to the third round with another win in singles but lost to Spains Rafael Nadal in doubles.Del Potro produced a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Portugals Joao Sousa, before heading back out on court with partner Maximo Gonzalez and getting beaten by Marc Lopez and Nadal 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Add it all up, and del Potro spent nearly 7 hours on court in a span of barely 25 hours. In a tournament that began without half of the ATPs top 10, del Potro looks like someone who might be able to add another medal to his 2012 bronze.Because of injuries, del Potro went 2 1/2 years without participating in a major until Wimbledon, so one big question is what his fitness level is.Im getting better. Im in good shape, he said, but I dont know if Im prepared to play six or more matches.---Follow Howard Fendrich on Twitter at http://twitter.com/HowardFendrich Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Store Wholesale Jerseys China Jerseys NFL China ' ' '
